A message from the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word about Orlando’s shooting
In 1869, the first Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word came to San Antonio motivated by the love of God and their recognition of God’s presence in each person. Together with Pope Francis and the leaders of our nation and our world, we stand with the victims of the horrific mass shooting that occurred in Orlando; with their families and friends and with the LGBT community.
Following in the steps of Jesus the Incarnate Word, we join in solidarity with all who are committed to being instruments of God’s peace and who respect the dignity of each human person. We assure to the LGBT community that we pray with you and we stand with you in your mourning as together we seek justice for all.
