El Puente – Hispanic Ministry participated in a special celebration with Bishop John Gaydos of Jefferson City, Missouri, on Sunday, August 14.

He celebrated the Eucharist with the Hispanic communities of California, Camdenton, Cuba and Jefferson City at Annunciation Church in California. Mass was followed by a wonderful meal prepared by the community at California, under the leadership of Sister Guadalupe Ruiz, CCVI.

Sister Peggy Bonnot, CCVI, helped organize the Jefferson City community for its part in the celebration. The celebration was part of a Diocesan plan to have the Bishop come to various geographic areas of the diocese to pray with and be present to the Hispanic community. Approximately 200 people participated in this special day that also happened to be the Bishop’s birthday! It was a joyful day of prayer and building community.
