The Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word and the University of the Incarnate Word invited the entire Incarnate Word family to a Festival of Lessons and Carols aired on Christmas Eve, December 24, via Zoom.
Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. Scripture lessons that recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News are proclaimed. Each lesson is followed by a carol or choral meditation that reflects the scriptural message of that lesson, concluding with a brief prayer.
