Hello!  My name is Keith Hitt and I am the new Major Gift Officer for the Sisters of Charity of The Incarnate Word in San Antonio.  I am very excited about my new position and look forward to utilizing my nearly thirty years of experience in Not- For- Profit Fundraising to work with my new team to expand and grow the mission of the Sisters on a daily basis.  My wife, Carol, and I moved to the San Antonio area in August, 2019 and really love the Hill Country and all it has to offer.  Carol, who is a Registered Nurse with the Comal Independent School District, served as an emergency room nurse for 14 years at the Children’s Medical Center in Dallas before entering school nursing. She is currently in her 17th year as a registered nurse with Texas Public Schools.  We are the proud parents of three children. Our daughter, Morgan is a Naval Officer and lives in Virginia, our son, Aaron lives in the Fort Worth area, and our youngest son, Christian lives in Lubbock.

I am a native Texan and was born and grew up in West Texas, living on a cotton farm between Lubbock, Texas and New Mexico.  It was there that I developed a strong work ethic and developed a deep desire and love to work with and serve all types of people.

After attending college and serving in the military, I moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area in the late 1980’s, which was where I started my fundraising career.  My first 25 years were spent in the healthcare arena in all areas of fundraising, primarily traveling around the state of Texas building relationships and expanding the mission of the organizations that I represented.  Before coming to my present position, I changed areas and worked in ministerial and humanitarian aid fundraising for several years, while primarily traveling across the United States and Latin America meeting and serving many people.

I have been very fortunate to always work for an organization that had a mission of service and love, and in my new role with the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word, it will be a natural transition for me to help build relationships and raise money for an organization that has served so many people all over the world for 150 years.  I am very fortunate and excited to be a part of the development team, and I look forward to the opportunity to meet and get to know each one of you.  Please come by and say hello!

Blessings,

Keith
