It’s time to put the sewing machines to work!

In these exceptional times, of social distance and quarantine, the Sisters have not stood still. In the face of the reality we live in, the Sisters have put their hands to work, or rather, threads to their sewing machines.

The idea is to make 3000 masks by mid-April, when, if conditions permit, they would be collected (on April 12) at the Generalate office of the Congregation to be distributed among the most vulnerable communities in the country and some critical places on the southern border.

The Sisters in their preventive isolation are already working on creating these masks according to the specific characteristics needed to resist sterilization and washing. Calling for collaborators, friends, and students who want to join the ones who already are part of this generous project.

You can also help! Contact the Congregation (communications@amormeus.org) and put your sewing machine to work! (We can also cut, cheer, fold and wash!)

If you want to help and support our Congregation in its spiritual and material work, you can make a gift here.

Very interesting! I wrote President Trump and suggested the very thing that you are doing. I expressing to him that I am a High School Vocational Home Economics teacher (and happen to be a grad. of U.I.W.) and I suggested that there are many of this same type of qualified and certified people all over the U.S., as well as experienced homemakers that could provide many masks that would meet the construction standards, if given direction.
