Last Friday, the Incarnate Word Foundation and Deaconess Foundation co-hosted a webinar on CoVid19 and St. Louis’ Kids: A Virtual Forum to Discuss Impact and Available Resources. Hundreds of people responded, and while some members of our community were unable to join the meeting, it was live-streamed on YouTube. Click here for the video recording.

The nearly two-hour presentation and discussion provided current information regarding vital services for children, who are among our most vulnerable during this crisis.

Area leaders in education, government, and social services updated viewers on their COVID-19 response, and fielded questions regarding the impact of the coronavirus spread on our community. These leaders included school superintendents, city health services managers, a family court administrative judge, members of the Board of Aldermen, and leaders of nonprofits dedicated to children’s care. At this critical time, this unprecedented level of collaboration among leaders across school or system types and geographic boundaries means better care for our children. Among the outcomes of the webinar is a centralized list of resources and information with live links to websites and phone numbers. This dynamic, real-time response will allow quicker access to critical support services for local communities under unprecedented stress.

This virtual forum was the first of several collaborations in development by the Incarnate Word Foundation to facilitate a collaborate response to those most vulnerable during this challenging time the Foundation will continue to work with the nonprofit community to create a synergistic approach to respond to this rapidly evolving situation.
