Laudato Si Week in the neighborhood

As we join in the celebration of ‘Laudato Si Week,’ and after the long indoor lockdown, we find that there is so much to celebrate in the outdoors, now that ‘Spring has sprung’ and we are led to take a look at our own ‘Care of Creation’ attitudes and activities.

The pictorial shows some neighborhood photos of nature from West San Antonio, as an example of the beauty of God’s creation in our own living areas.

Take note of the large trees, many are very old and some of the roots are so large and extensive that they break through the sidewalks.

As the poet Joyce Kilmer wrote in his poem on “Trees”:

“Poems are made by fools like me, but only God can make a tree.”

Enjoy!

We invite you to see more pictures about taking a ‘care of creation’ trip around the neighborhood at West Kings Hwy., San Antonio, on Laudato Si Week in the neighborhood.
