Associates meet to update themselves in the area of Christology

In the ordinary meetings, starting in April, we concentrated on the task of reading, reflecting and making comments on the book written by M. Castillo and Juan A. Estrada, Jesus’ Project [El Proyecto de Jesús]. We also read Luke’s Gospel and the text written by Elizabeth A. Johnson, Consider Jesus: Waves or Renewal in Christology.  This allowed us to review and to update ourselves in the area of Christology.

Emmaus Community and local Sisters in San Antonio, join in an afternoon of celebration to bid a fond farewell to Pre-Nov- ice Carmen Ramirez as she heads to St. Louis Novitiate. It was an afternoon of hospitality, friendship and joyful sharing of many parting gifts for Carmen. We wish her Bon Voyage!

Sacred Circle Conversational Groups at the IW Village

Sisters at the IW Village engage in meaningful conversations together with all the Sisters of the Congregation, in examining more closely how all can relate generation by generation. The Sisters engaged in the process are hoping to offer insights to the other generational groups about the transition thresholds they encounter and the needs related to them in their lives.

We welcome two new fellow staff members

We welcome two new fellow staff members

We are happy to announce that Margaret Hernandez has joined the administrative staff of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in the position of Executive Assistant in support of the General Leadership Team. Margaret comes to us with excellent experience, having served for years as Executive Assistant to the President, Chief Nursing Officer, and Vice President for Finance at our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Medical Center Hospital.  She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University and has significant experience in additional administrative positions. We are looking forward to our work with Margaret.

Incarnate Word Associates

Incarnate Word Associates

The Associate communities have been doing their best to accompany one another this whole year. Both Mexico and U.S. Associates had their assemblies online.  We are encouraged by the way our Associates have learned how to use technology for these processes.  The Mexico Associate Assembly was celebrated over several weeks, culminating with the transition to a new team.  The U.S. Associates also used technology to transition to a new coordinating committee.
