As part of the celebration of Laudato Si our Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) Office, organized in Chimbote, Peru, one of the workshops known as “Sustainable Life Workshops”, with the support of the Social Justice Commission in Chimbote. The participants included associates, volunteers and Sisters of our Congregation.

The facilitator of this workshop was a specialist on the subject of care for the environment in the city of Chimbote. The facilitator led us in the development of the following objectives:

  • Making sure ecological sustainability is an integral part of our planning, our decision making and practices in the Congregation.
  • Promoting changes in our life style which respect to all life on Earth.
  • Rejecting the culture of consumerism and promoting development models that respect the rights of all the community on Planet Earth.
  • Making a commitment with a vision of sustainability.
The workshop ended with personal commitments that promote the care of creation. After the workshop program is complete, these commitments will be assembled together in order to create an integral commitment as a Congregation.
