Community of Associates in Chimbote moves forward with hope

This past weekend, a retreat was held with the Associates in Chimbote, Peru.

It was a time to get to know each other better and to deepen our understanding of the spirituality of the Incarnation.
This meant revisiting the history and life of the community, reflecting on each Associate and their relationships with one another, in order to renew the mission and charism of the Incarnation.

It was also a necessary time to strengthen congregational commitments, taking into account their own missionary history; the dreams and experiences of each member; and the contexts in which, during this Jubilee Year, we are encouraged to keep moving forward.

Aspects such as dialogue and hope shaped the path of these days of gathering. A journey that will continue at the National Retreat of CCVI Associates Peru 2025, which will also take place in the city of Chimbote at the beginning of August.

Let us continue to accompany these processes of encounter for our communities and for our entire congregation.

Praised be the Incarnate Word!

Texts that inspired and guided the retreat:

“We often meet people who are discouraged, who look to the future with skepticism and pessimism, as if nothing could bring them happiness. May the Jubilee be for everyone an opportunity to rekindle HOPE.”

Bull of Indiction of the Jubilee 2025 Spes Non Confundit, no. 1

“Drawing closer, speaking, listening, looking at one another, coming to know each other, trying to understand one another, and seeking points of contact — all of this can be summed up in the one word ‘dialogue.’ To encounter and help each other, we need to DIALOGUE.”

Encyclical Fratelli Tutti, no. 198
