All Saints is a day commemorating all the saints of the church, both known and unknown, who have attained heaven.

Let us pray for all who have died this year from COVID:

  • 750,000 in the United States
  • 290,000 in Mexico
  • 200,000 in Peru

Remembering all who have died from COVID, we can’t help but think of our Congregation’s beginning, because of a Cholera epidemic in Texas. There were two actually: one in 1849, and another in 1866. Over 700 lives were lost in Texas because of cholera. Three women came to San Antonio to open Santa Rosa Infirmary to tend to the sick and dying. Almost immediately, they began to care for children, orphans, who had lost one or both parents.

Today, 1.5 million children have lost their parents, grandparents or other caregivers to COVID-19. Nearly 114,000 are from the U.S. alone.

Let us pray for all who have died, and their families, children, parents, friends.

We remember in a special way all of our Sisters who died over the past year.
