EL PUENTE Hispanic Ministry celebrates 20 years of service in Jefferson City, Missouri.

El Puente, founded in 1999 as a response to the newly arrived immigrants from Mexico, Central and South America, is the only social outreach program of its kind in the diocese of Jefferson City. 

The ministry helps integrate new immigrants to life in the United States while preserving their cultural values.  It is a ministry of presence and outreach.  Its many projects include medical interpretation at hospitals and clinics, transportation for medical and legal needs and helping students transition into the educational system.  Pastoral Ministry includes sacramental preparation and liturgical celebrations, leadership development, bible study and small group faith formation.  Since its foundation El Puente has collaborated with beneficial community resources and called forth leaders from the Hispanic community who accompany the staff in pastoral ministry services.
