Intercollegiate Games 2020

After several months of preparation, on the 6th of February, the Intercollegiate games began, where 685 athletes met at the Miguel Angel Institute in Mexico City to participate in the disciplines of basketball, football and volleyball. The first contingent arrived at 9:30 AM.

The inauguration began at 13:00 with the parade of all participants:

  • Colegio Central, Puebla.
  • Colegio Liceo Cervantino, Guanajuato.
  • Colegio Mexicano, Monterrey.
  • Colegio Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Veracruz.
  • Colegio Santa Catarina, Monterrey.
  • Instituto América, Chihuahua.
  • Instituto Hispano Inglés, San Luis Potosí.
  • Instituto Miguel Ángel de Occidente, Zapopan.
  • Instituto Miguel Ángel, Cd. México

Excited for the start of this great event, the inauguration concluded with the mascots race and by waving the flags of the Congregation, sports club and the 150th anniversary of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word.

On that same day, at 16:30, the various disciplines began to compete, thus initiating these Intercollegiate Games 2020.

On the 7th of February, games began at 8:00 AM, playing at the football fields of Colegio Simón Bolívar and the fields of IMA for various disciplines, which concluded at 17:30 for students to prepare for the traditional party with all participants, concluding at 22:30.

On the last day, February 8, with the adrenaline soaring for the semifinal and final games showcasing the champions of each discipline and category, we gathered at 16:30 on the patio for celebration of the Eucharist to thank God for a successful event and to ask for the safe return of all participants to their places of origin. Amidst cheers and applause, the awaited awards ceremony began. Medals were awarded to the 1st – 3rd places, plus first place trophies.

These Intercollegiate Games 2020 came to a close by handing the flag to Instituto Miguel Ángel Occidente, which will host the 2021 Games.
