On October 29, 2020, the USA Sisters and office staff celebrated a Zoom Thanks & Farewell to Saundra Watts who is retiring at this time, having served the Congregation for the past 50 years.

The Sisters across the USA joined in the celebration by sharing personal greetings and stories, pertinent to Saundra’s ministry in the Generalate Office in the many capacities in which she served, from finance, to Weddings Coordination, to general hospitality and event planning and management.  Sister Rosita who was Saundra’s supervisor in finance, noted that she had first served the Congregation at Santa Rosa Hospital for twenty years before joining the Generalate finance office. Nothing but heaps of praise were lavished on Saundra during the Zoom celebration, all in agreement that she was the most gracious, patient and committed employee that anyone can remember. She exemplified the Incarnate Word Charism in all her dealings and personal encounters, not only among the staff but also with the general public. Saundra’s quality of presence was remarkable, and she will be dearly missed by all the Sisters and staff.  The members of the GLT presented Saundra with some very special gifts as a token of appreciation for her long life of devoted service to the Congregation.  At the close of the celebration, Saundra thanked all Sisters and Staff for their gracious words and for having had the opportunity to serve them in different capacities. As a dear friend and member of the Incarnate Word Associates, Saundra will continue to be a vital part of the Congregation for years to come.

We were truly blessed by Saundra. Her dedication as an Incarnate Word Associate is also exemplary.
