On October 29, 2020, the USA Sisters and office staff celebrated a Zoom Thanks & Farewell to Saundra Watts who is retiring at this time, having served the Congregation for the past 50 years.
These days of confinement and isolation can be seen as opportunities to “remember,” read our reflection today.

They stand with and support us throughout the year. Now is the time to give these women the special recognition they deserve during this Catholic Sisters Week! This “Tea Time with the Sisters” event was held in their honor at our Alamo Heights Hospital. They also had several special visitors – Texas Cavaliers’ King Antonio and his court! They passed out Fiesta medals to the Sisters and others around the hospital.
Another celebration of the 150th Anniversary of the Congregation, took place at CHRISTUS Hospice Center in San Antonio to recall the arrival of the three founders to San Antonio in 1869. The event was coordinated by Rev. Derek Labranch, Hospice Chaplain.
Los Quijotes were born in 1989, when more than 20 willing medical volunteers traveled to Jalapa, a poor area of Mexico City, upon the request of the CCVI Congregation. The group adopted the name of the famous Spanish character as they dreamed of doing good, fighting gigantic health problems with words, hands, medicines, good will and enthusiasm.
