Sister Miriam Bannon made her First Profession of Vows on Saturday, August 24, 2019, during the celebration of Mass at the Chapel of the Incarnate Word, San Antonio, Texas.

Rev. Tom Florek, S.J., friend of Sr Miriam served as Presider and homilist. Sisters Cathy Vetter, Novice Director and Teresa Maya, Congregational Leader, assisted Sister Miriam in her Profession Ceremony of first Vows, while some retired Sisters, with whom Sister Miriam had worked, presented the offertory gifts. The music ministry was provided by the Gokelman family-Lena, Bill and Chris.

Sister Teresa Maya also shared a reflection for the occasion on: First Profession: A Journey of Discernment and Accompaniment.

Following the liturgy, the community gathered in Heritage Hall for a festive luncheon, during which Sister Miriam received greetings and  good wishes from her Sisters, while also taking a moment to thank all for their presence at her profession celebration and noting that having spent 30 years as an Incarnate Word Missionary, she felt called to join the Congregation as a religious Sister.

Congratulations, to Sister Miriam!
