The University of the Incarnate Word has reached an important step in the development of the UIW School of Osteopathic Medicine (UIWSOM). UIWSOM received pre-accreditation with permission to recruit immediately and provisional accreditation status effective July 1, 2016 from the American Osteopathic Association Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA).
