On Tuesday, January 17, 2023, members of Incarnate Word Academy’s faculty and staff gathered for a retreat that was filled with prayer, reflection, connection to other Incarnate Word ministries, and service.

Teachers and staff members assembled in IWA’s chapel for an opening prayer, followed by a presentation from Kate Flatley ’01, Senior Project Director at Incarnate Word Foundation (another Incarnate Word ministry located in St. Louis, MO.) “I am excited to share the good news about IWF and the partnerships we have forged within the local community. I look forward to any opportunities to strengthen the bond between our ministries in the future,” Flatley commented. Afterwards, teachers and staff members participated in a “blessing of the hands” ceremony, followed by a period of small group reflection and sharing.

After lunch, everyone headed to the St. Louis Area Foodbank for an afternoon of service that included repackaging a wide variety of items for distribution throughout the region. In two very busy but “fruitful” hours, IWA was able to process 4.68 tons of goods that helped provide 7,646 meals for the hungry.
