Celebrating Juneteenth
The University of the Incarnate Word has started a new tradition observing Juneteenth, the newspaper and UIWTX Specials done by the students about the gathering. They were grateful that so many Incarnate Word Sisters attended!
Sacred Circle Conversational Groups at the IW Village
Sisters at the IW Village engage in meaningful conversations together with all the Sisters of the Congregation, in examining more closely how all can relate generation by generation. The Sisters engaged in the process are hoping to offer insights to the other generational groups about the transition thresholds they encounter and the needs related to them in their lives.
We welcome two new fellow staff members
We are happy to announce that Margaret Hernandez has joined the administrative staff of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word in the position of Executive Assistant in support of the General Leadership Team. Margaret comes to us with excellent experience, having served for years as Executive Assistant to the President, Chief Nursing Officer, and Vice President for Finance at our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa Medical Center Hospital. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership from Middle Tennessee State University and has significant experience in additional administrative positions. We are looking forward to our work with Margaret.
Laudato Si Week in the neighborhood
As we join in the celebration of ‘Laudato Si Week,’ and after the long indoor lockdown, we find that there is so much to celebrate in the outdoors, now that ‘Spring has sprung’ and we are led to take a look at our own ‘Care of Creation’ attitudes and activities.
Recognition of Lulú Martínez
We congratulate Lulu on receiving her Award for excellent performance in her housekeeping tasks at the Generalate. Much gratitude is extended to Lulu, Mary, and Ana for the love expressed in their daily work.
