On Sunday, Pope Francis walked along the Via del Corso to pray at a crucifix in the church of San Marcello on the Corso, which in 1522 was carried throughout Rome to bring an end to plague. Pope Francis prayed for an end to the coronavirus pandemic.

An Irish Blessing
The arms of God be around my shoulders,
the touch of the Holy Spirit upon my head;
The sign of Christ’s Cross upon my forehead,
the sound of the Holy Spirit in my ears;
the vision of heaven’s company in my eyes,
the conversation of heaven’s company on my lips;
the work of God’s Church in my hands,
the service of God and neighbor in my feet;
a home for God in my heart, and to
God, the Father of all, my entire being. Amen.

Faith and simplicity in prayer
We can say a lot about the faith of simple people, I had a wonderful experience to prove it, it was for me an example of humility, of faith, of prayer, of true trust in God. It was with a person from my parish community, he told me that in his first year of school, he did not learn much and his mother told him: “you are a dumb, you will not go to school next year, you will go to the fields to work with your father”. And so it was, so he never learned how to read or write, he could only draw his name, every time with less effort, but it is just that, a drawing, and he is proud to know that it is his signature.

Prayer and our relationship with God
“A lot of trouble about the prayer would disappear if we only realized that we go to pray not because we love prayer but because we love God.”

My daily lenten scripture lesson
LENT TIME
The liturgy of Ash Wednesday: God calls the people to repentance
Even now, says the LORD, return to me with your whole heart,
with fasting, and weeping, and mourning; Rend your hearts, not your garments,
and return to the LORD, your God.
For gracious and merciful is he, slow to anger, rich in kindness, and
relenting in punishment.
Perhaps he will again relent and leave behind him a blessing, Offerings and
libations for the LORD, your God.
The Season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday
“REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE DUST AND UNTO DUST YOU WILL RETURN.” (Gen. 3:19)
