Praised be the Incarnate Word!
On May 2, the Holy Spirit Community had the opportunity to celebrate our monthly gathering with our dear Sisters in the Sacred Family Community and the Associates at Casa San Angel.
The month of May is dedicated to our Heavenly Mother, the Holy Virgin Mary, Mother of the Son of God, and we joined in the joyous Jubilee of the 150th Anniversary of the foundation of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Incarnate Word. We prayed “the Little Crown of Mary’s Pure Heart”, accompanied by an offering of flowers and songs.
Our dear Bible Teacher, Nora Hilda de Llano, explained the icon of the Hodegetria Virgin briefly.
The Child with an adult’s face shows the eternal wisdom of Christ. He is blessing us with his right hand, and his left hand holds the roll of the Holy Scripture. He is the Emmanuel, conscious of his Salvation Mission. The yellow ochre color represents the irradiation of Grace. Three golden stars adorn the Virgin’s veil; one is on her forehead, and the other two are on her shoulders. They represent Mary’s virginity before, during, and after childbirth.
