Praying with windows, day 3

“When the time came for their purification according to the law of Moses, they brought him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord” (Luke 2:22).

Joseph and Mary took their child to be presented to God. For Christians, this presentation happens at the Rite of Baptism; we are presented to God, to be incorporated into the Body of Christ.  Throughout our lives we are presented on other occasions, to other communities. As adults, we present ourselves to our families, friends, our colleagues, to our professional acquaintances. This time of quarantine is a good time to ask ourselves, “How do my words and actions present myself?”

God, give me the grace to be patient, loving, and compassionate.
Let others see you in me.
Help me to be forgiving, and help me to ask for forgiveness.
In all that I say, and in all that I do,
Let others see you in me.
